Having to solve a freaking captcha for every damn search, because I am using a VPN and / or private mode, is absolutely not reasonable.

startpage blockt wiederholt suchanfragen bei VPN Nutzung mit der Behauptung: "zu viele Suchanfragen in kurzer Zeit..."ein echtes nogo!

WARNING...SUSPECT SCaMMER/SPAMMER ADD ON....Works maybe one is a dozen times otherwise a stupid message appears asking how you are 'working'....personally think it is either a spamming system or a scamming system and have now blocked it from our devices. Also have doubts about authenticity of claims that user data is secure.

Used it happily for some years. But since a few days the add-on doesnt return any result for any query. Disappointing. Will check back over a year or so.

Good alternatives are still DuckDuckgo (is subject to US-law) or with regards to European data protection regulations, the French search machine Qwant.

Startpage cannot be considered protecting your data anymore, since they are sold to system1 - a company earning money with personalized advertisement.

Habe startpage lange benutzt. Leider wurde es verkauft an ein Datensammelunternehmen! Sehr traurig. Wollen die ehemaligen Betreiber, die uns mit Datenschutz angeworben haben, mit dem Geld für den Verkauf jetzt glücklich werden oder wollen sie nur nach Kohle stinken???

Been a long term user of Startpage. I did NOT expect this to happen! I have removed this add on and. of course, I do not use and will not ever use Startpage again. The previous review posted a source link, as I cant stress this enough for people who are still using Startpage or considering to do so, please reconsider!

Look how active Startpage have been replying to the comments and questions, and now its been totally quiet here.
Startpage, who promised "real privacy" have after all this years partnered with the ad-company System1 (I think anyone understand that they are anything but privacy friendly) something i did not expect to happen, not with Startpage, but i (and many others) was wrong.

Dear Startpage, you proved yourself being a scam. Users trust is hard to gain, now when letting your true shady fake face shine, you dont deserve any trust whatsoever.

Also a long time Startpage fan. Its really sad and a big surprise. I did not expect Startpage to take this path. RIP Startpage.
