TubeForge changes how youtube.com feels: fewer distractions, sharper playback controls, and optional power tools without a TubeForge account. Settings sync with Firefox Sync where you use storage.sync; immersive Lazy UI may use local storage.

Distraction & layout
  • Hide Shorts and optional feed filters (live, premieres, mixes, sponsored slots where selectors match).
  • Dim watched thumbnails.
  • Focus Mode hides sidebar / comments / related panels on watch pages.

Playback
  • Speed memory per channel (when enabled).
  • Theater mode preference (when enabled).
  • Auto quality hints via the player API (when enabled).
  • Loop A–B on the player bar (when enabled).

Shorts
  • Lazy Mode for Shorts with configurable behavior (auto-advance, ads handling, progress UI, optional immersive chrome).

Power tools
  • Stats overlay on the player (when enabled).
  • Screenshot button + keyboard shortcuts (when enabled).
  • Per-video notes (stored with preferences).

Optional third-party data

When Return dislikes is enabled, the extension requests vote counts from https://returnyoutubedislikeapi.com using the current watch page video ID. Disable the toggle to stop those requests.

TubeForge is a Manifest V3 extension focused on enhancing youtube.com (UI cleanup, playback helpers, optional Lazy Shorts mode, screenshots, notes, stats overlay). Manifest host/content patterns may be broad; YouTube-specific behavior is gated in the content script.

Review tip: enable/disable major toggles from the toolbar popup and verify behavior on /watch and /shorts.

Optional third-party network: when “Return dislikes” is enabled, the add-on requests vote data from returnyoutubedislikeapi.com using the current watch video ID.
