I'm using the beta for a couple of month. The recognition of video resolution is not that good. The resolution recognized as lower ist pretty often the higher one. I can live with that...

What I really dislike: with the new UI it shortens filenames down to 65 charakters, what is not a lot nowadays. When I change back to the old UI longer filenames are no problem.

It doesn't even detect the video on youtube anymore (I have the paid extension)
Correction: it only doesn't work on 720 or higher res videos. The low res ones still work, but there are sites that handle downloading and converting these so an update is needed. Updated from 1 star to 3

it should download hls files directly

This is a really good downloader and easy to use. My only complaint is that every time they update their converter, I have to buy a new "lifetime" license.

Complemento muy práctico para descargar videos incluso en 720p, pero si descargas varios seguidos no reconoce bien los nombres y los mezcla.

id strongly prefer not having to install a 2ndary pckage onto my computer in order to use the video download feature, but it does work well once installed. i dont believe ill leave it installed however, as there are alternatives available that work equally well and dont require the installation of additional software directly onto my private machine. ive no idea what that sw is doing and what data it could be uploading back to its "mother" company.

It is no doubt my fault but I get some great downloads and others anything from 0 to partial. Would like better instruction on use and working to find that now.

It WAS an excellent addon for downloading every video and playing it off-line (especially helpful with slow or unstable Internet connection). Nevertheless, now it doesn't work with Youtube.
I'm not sure about version with functionality broken - I haven't updated it for a while. Anyway, it doesn't work now.

I have a very long history (several years) of working with Video DownloadHelper (VDH). In the beginning, it was the perfect app for me to use to download pretty much any video I wanted to, and in some cases converting a video to audio.

I have noticed an increasing number of videos that require an external app loaded to complete the conversion that used to be handled solely by the VDH. I don't feel comfortable installing more apps on my computer that I don't know just on someone's say so. As a result I'm unable to use VDH for most of my needs.
