This takes the collaborative spirit of Wikipedia and warps it into a mess filled with ads and shady connections. (At least) one of the developers has intellectually, materially and technologically benefited a discriminatory settler-colonial regime, which adds a disturbing layer to the whole project. This is the perfect example of 'entrepreneurs' taking someone else's hard work and making money off of it, all the while violating the spirit of the creation. Thanks but no, thanks. I'll stick to the boring old 'outdated' version of the site that the community has been diligently working on for ages instead of this AI filled garbage :)

Edit: forgot to add - check out how many servers worldwide this thing is shaking hands with in the background while you're reading your article on Nabataea or the Achaemenids. You might be terribly surprised.

Used this forever. But now the AI crap is annoying. Wikipedia has a nice looking site now. I don't need this bloat anymore. Also, don't pay for this mess. Give your money to Wikipedia directly.

The new layout is not needed and the AI features are absolutely useless and not needed. Wikiwand should be a wikipedia rebrand, not adding its own "features" that nobody asked for

Needless AI bandwagoning

Horrible user interface change. The developers added a paywall that on top of restricting access to AI features (i.e. summaries, which used to be free), it also now blocks customization through themes and fonts. Moreover, this terrible update made me learn that this product is sharing user data with 'partners'. Uninstalled.

The addon was great until the new update which changed the layout significantly, for the worse.

Terrible ugly unnecessary update

I installed this for the redesign, not for the AI features I do not care about. And now I have to stare at it, even if it's closed.

Wikiwand recently pushed its new "omni" version to main, and it sucks.

wtf happend. Used to be great but newest update ruined it.

The newest update is completely and utter shit, it has taken everything that made wikiwand good and gotten rid of it. It has now paywalled swapping fonts and redesigned the entire site without the possibility of reverting..

The recent updates made this tool god awful, probably so you'll pay them money through subscription. All wikiwand is, is wikipedia but a bit prettier. There's no reason to force this onto us.

Used to be great but now it's stuffed full with all this terrible AI nonsense that provides unrelaible information and lies to you.

Recently updated their entire layout to focus even more heavily on premium AI content and hide more Wiki information. Terrible terrible terrible.

Wikiwand's styling is great, but I wish they were more transparent about the data they collect from users. Additionally, ctrl+click constantly breaks and opens links in the same tab, which is infuriating. I wish that basic functionality like this worked consistently.

Just absolutely broken. I could no longer use Wikipedia because after a few lines the page would 404.

I used it for a long time and in the last few months has completely broken, leaving me unable to load Wikipedia at all without disabling it.

They started pushing "AI" based crap into it at the same time.

The structural choices they made with the new layout broke other tools ability to summarize and excerpt articles as well.

After month of breakages and AI marketing ads BS I gave up and moved to Modern for Wikipedia. I would recommend you do the same.

Severe dislexea an I had to uninstal as extension got bad. serif fonts is hard to read so i use wikiwand for years to make it easy for reading wikipeda pages. but on new version it always dos serif titles but no problem coulld still go back an use old layout with easy fonts. i email them to say serif problem got no reply. left reviews for extensions got no reply. now they just remove option to go back to layout 1. so now i can only use the other wikpedia extension that is better than this because they just made this really bad for dislexia people and im sad.

It was a 5 star extension, but the new layout sucks imo. It also lied about being able to revert back to the old layout at any time.

I don't want any of this AI crap, I just want the old layout. It was simple, easy to understand, and looked good. That's all I wanted, I don't care about any of this other added stuff.
