The storage permission is used to save extension preferences locally on the user’s device (for example playback speed, pitch lock state, shortcut mappings, and onboarding/review prompt state) so settings persist between sessions. The extension also stores UI position locally in page storage for usability. This data stays local and is not sold or shared.

Host access is restricted to music.youtube.com so the extension can run its content script on YouTube Music pages, inject its playback-control UI, and apply user-selected features (speed, pitch lock, A/B loop, and shortcuts). The extension does not run on other domains.
