Ghostly Chatter
Make the web social — see other users browsing the same page as floating ghost avatars, chat ephemerally, leave permanent comments, and send emoji balloon reactions. Social Ghost turns any webpage into a shared space. When other users are visiting the same URL at the same time, they become visible as soft, glowing ghost avatars that follow their real mouse positions — a subtle social layer floating over the web, never getting in your way.

See other visitors on the page as floating avatars with spring-physics movement — they trail naturally behind the cursor, overshoot gently, and bob when idle. Hover over an avatar to see who's there and how long they've been on the page.
💬 Ephemeral Page Chat
A collapsible chat panel lets you talk with anyone currently on the same page. Messages vanish when the session ends — no history, no trace. Includes typing indicators, a live user count, and slash commands like
📝 Permanent Page Comments
Leave comments tied to any page that persist for future visitors. Supports threaded replies, upvotes/downvotes, editing within 5 minutes, and deletion by the author. A toolbar badge shows the comment count for the current page.
🌐 Top Web Sites Page
Here you can see what pages all the other Ghost Users are currently reading. It's a high score list with the top page having the most users currently online on that specific page.
🎉 Emoji Balloon Reactions
A small, semi-transparent reaction bar sits at the bottom of your screen. Click an emoji and watch it float upward like a balloon — with a gentle sinusoidal drift — visible to everyone else on the page in real time.
Privacy Policy
Social Ghost requires no account and no login. You are identified only by an anonymous UUID generated on install, paired with a username you choose. No personal data is stored on the server. Ephemeral chat messages are never persisted. The extension can be toggled off at any time from the toolbar popup.
How It Works
The extension connects to a lightweight relay server. Cursor positions, chat messages, and reactions are brokered in real time over WebSocket. Permanent comments are stored server-side using a simple database. All injected UI is visually isolated from the host page and designed to never break your browsing experience.
