LanguageTool limited its browser extension to Premium users. Obviously because of AI costs!
It was good enough without AI

After they added AI, they seem to rewrite my sentences as i write them which is completely unprofessional and absolutely unacceptable. A terrible plug-in if you value your own work, and a terrible decision in my honest opinion. USED to be half decent, but now it's so deeply festering with AI it's near impossible to give it any saving grace. Terrible update, worse content. 0/10.

It was great until they added AI. Now it's borderline unusable. I can't even type a simple sentence without AI trying to rewrite my work. It's terrible.

While LanguageTool works wonderfully, I cannot give any praise to an extension that requires a subscription. Please consider removing the paywall or, at the very least, charging a flat fee (under $10) for this service. Until that change is made, I will not support LanguageTool.

Now with this being a paid only extension there is no use to it. it was nice when it was free but now they had to only limit it to premium users, now any other grammar checker will do better as it is free and will do the same thing.

It stopped working. It used to catch grammatical errors, but now it always alerts me that the promotional package has expired and completely stopped functioning. I'm fine with charging for premium services, as long as the basic features keep working, but it simply doesn't correct anything anymore, so I uninstalled it.

So far, so good. I am running a local instance in Docker because I deal with PHI and cannot have information going to a server. No premium features, but that's okay.
