The nimistu browser extension is operated by Nimistu MTÜ (Estonia).

What it does
On Google, Bing and DuckDuckGo search results pages, the extension reads your search query and sends it to nimistu.ee to fetch matching public entries from the Estonian business register, shown as a card at the top of the page.

Data the extension handles
- Search query — sent to https://nimistu.ee/api/lookup to retrieve matching companies and people. Used only to return those results.
- Your settings (enabled, language, trigger-site list) — stored in your own browser via the storage API; they do not leave your device beyond your browser's own sync.

What it does NOT do
- No accounts or sign-in.
- No advertising, analytics, or tracking.
- No collection of personally identifiable information, browsing history, or location.
- No selling, renting, or sharing of data with third parties.

Third parties
- Requests to nimistu.ee are subject to standard server logging (e.g. IP address and request).
- Company website favicons are loaded via Google's public favicon service.
