Read only the news that's new
Nunus grays out news headlines you have already seen, so what is actually new stands out when you check back.
Nunus currently works on the home pages of The New York Times, Google News, The Guardian, Ground News, and The Epoch Times.
What it does
When you revisit a supported news site, Nunus automatically grays out headlines you have already seen, so new stories stand out immediately.
Keyboard shortcut
Press Option + ↓ (Mac) to jump straight to the next unseen headline on the page.
How “already seen” is defined
A headline counts as seen once it has been on your screen for a few seconds. You do not need to click through to the article. If the same story appears more than once on the page, later copies gray out right away. If a site tweaks the wording links to the same article, it still counts as seen.
Typical use case
You scan the news over coffee in the morning. Returning home, you check back over a cocktail. Most of the stories are the same — but several new ones have been added during the day. With Nunus, everything you have already seen is grayed out, so the new stories are immediately visible without any scanning.
News sites often recycle older stories, especially on weekends. Nunus grays those out too, so you only spend time on what is actually new to you.
