ScamAvert helps you recognise and avoid online scams while you browse. It checks website addresses, links, sign-in forms, page behaviour and downloads for common signs of deception, then explains what looks suspicious.
Protection includes:

- Risky download flows and fake updates

These checks run locally in your browser and do not require a ScamAvert account.

ScamAvert keeps you in control. You can review findings, dismiss warnings, manage exceptions and continue to flagged destinations where supported.
ScamAvert helps identify scam indicators, but no protection can detect every scam and an unflagged website should not automatically be considered safe.
The ScamAvert Windows desktop app is optional. The browser extension works independently.
