The software was free and has always worked fine. However they added a watermark. The watermark however also was applied to some videos downloaded PRIOR this update. I don't think the software should be able to do that.

Converting video to mp3 requires installing additional software and after that tells that I need to pay 20 euro for converter license.

This addon adds noticeable delay to every youtube page loaded. When scrolling youtube shorts, this extension alone adds delay before UI is responsive, and VERY poor performance after quickly scrolling past 2+ videos. After attempting to scroll through 3+ youtube shorts, the videos will begin to buffer, not load, and firefox memory and cpu utilization spike for a moment before catching back up.

switched to freemium model, just use yt-dlp instead

This used to be a great extension. Now it sticks a big qr code on the video and wants money and a conversion installer. bye bye

More than 70% of YouTube videos are NOT downloaded, which makes this extension pretty useless!

after installing they tell you, than an additional installer is required, which is an absolute no-go. video downloaders like this (even stream downloaders) don't require such normally. very shady.

Does not work on Deviant Art.

First they want you to install a sketchy software to "co-work" with this addon and now they plaster a qr code visible in your video when u download it, so you have to buy a license key for around 20€ to remove it. Trash addon at this point.

Mozilla need to remove this extension from recommended add-ons. They force you to donate by putting a watermark on the video with no upfront notification about the watermark policy before downloading. Even p... videos sucks to download with it now 😂👎.

After I paid for the license, the key suddenly disappeared and doesn't work.
No serious response from support.

The first few videos, there was no QR code, and then there was a QR code after which takes you to a place to pay. There is no option to use PayPal, and I don't feel comfortable purchasing the conversion license without it. Then on the website, it says that there's no water mark on videos when there is, and it's big and gets in the way. This leaves a lot to be desired, and as soon as I find an alternative, I'm gone.

Sketchy additional installer required, no thank you.

Several years ago this was one of my favorite add-ons.
It would download music,video, and images with no problems. I used it a lot.
Now it won't download a lot of Youtube videos, some streaming video, or any images. When it does work it leaves a water mark or some kind of box on the video. It's slow, even slower to aggregate the video and audio to make another worthless water marked video. To get rid of the mark. you have to pay this pirate for a license. I am not going to pay for this add-on that doesn't work nearly as well as it did in the past. There are better video downloaders that are free with unmarked downloaded video. Try Open Video Downloader. Google it, don't pay the pirate.

Sadly, VDH is now plastering a large QR code in the bottom left of the video, obscuring much of it. :(
