YouTube Bandwidth Saver was designed with a strict principle in mind: zero data collection.


The extension DOES NOT collect, store, or transmit any personal data, browsing history, or video metadata. There are no servers owned or operated by us. No information ever leaves your device.


The extension requires the following permissions to operate:
- storage: Used EXCLUSIVELY locally within your browser to store user preferences (storage.sync) and per-tab toggle state (storage.session, cleared on browser restart).
- Access to *://www.youtube.com/* and *://music.youtube.com/*: Required to inject the overlay and adjust playback quality directly on the YouTube web application.


The extension operates entirely client-side on your device by interacting locally with the web page. The extension makes no additional network requests.
