Tired of the seekbar popping up every time you tap Space to pause, ←/→ to seek, or ↑/↓ to change volume? YouTube Player Enhancer fixes that — the controls stay hidden during keyboard shortcuts, just like VLC Media Player.

Perfect for keyframe hunting, frame-by-frame analysis, tutorials, reaction videos, and distraction-free viewing.




The progress bar, gradient overlays, and top chrome never appear when you use keyboard shortcuts. They show only when you move the mouse. A tiny OSD indicator (▶ / ⏸ / ↤ 10s / 🔊 80%) appears top-right with no background box — exactly like VLC's on-screen display.

For videos with black bars or non-16:9 aspect ratios:
- Fill 16:9 — auto-stretch to remove all black bars (handles letterbox, pillarbox, encoded bars)
- Custom Fill — manual vertical stretch slider (1.00x–2.50x, default 1.34x) with 5 presets


Override YouTube's caption styling (great when YouTube's native subtitle options won't change):
- Background opacity (0–100%, default 0 = fully transparent)
- Font color picker
- Font family — 13 options: YouTube Noto, Roboto, Arial, Helvetica, Verdana, Tahoma, Trebuchet MS, Georgia, Times New Roman, Courier New, Consolas, Impact, Comic Sans MS


Thinner progress bar that fattens on hover, with a blue → violet gradient fill and round scrubber knob — cleaner than stock YouTube.
