Clean Firefox in one place

Firefox gives you many ways to clear browser data, but finding the right settings can take time.

Ghost Clean gives you a simple way to see and clean your browser data from one place.

You can:

See how much browser data is stored
Clear history, cookies, cache, downloads, passwords, and website storage
Clean a specific website without cleaning everything
Add websites to the whitelist to protect their cookies. For example, if you add Gmail, Ghost Clean will not remove its cookies, so you can stay signed in until you remove Gmail from the whitelist
Automatically clean Firefox daily, weekly, or when Firefox starts
Use Grabber Mode to hide annoying things on a webpage, such as cookie banners, ads, pop-ups, or other unwanted elements

Privacy & Data Collection

Ghost Clean does not collect or store your browsing history, visited websites, passwords, cookies, downloads, website content, or personal browsing data.

To help us understand how many people actively use Ghost Clean, the extension sends one small anonymous request approximately once a day.

This request contains an anonymous identifier used only to measure active usage.

It does not include:

Browsing history
Website URLs
Cookies
Passwords
Download information
Website content
Search queries
The cleanup counter
A browsing profile

Ghost Clean does not use this heartbeat to track which websites you visit or what you do online.

This extension requires the following permissions:

browsingData - Clear browser history, cookies, cache, downloads, passwords, and website storage.
tabs - Detect the active website and close tabs/open a fresh tab after a full cleanup.
history - Display browsing history counts in the dashboard.
cookies + <all_urls> - Display cookie counts and manage cookies across websites.
downloads - Display and clear download history.
sessions - Support browser reset and session-related cleanup functionality.
storage - Store the cookie whitelist, cleaning schedule, local statistics, anonymous identifier, and extension settings.
alarms - Run scheduled cleaning and the daily anonymous usage heartbeat.
activeTab - Access the currently active website for site-specific cleaning and Grabber Mode.

Ghost Clean also uses the browser's Storage API to show an estimated storage size for the currently active website. This is an estimate and is not treated as an exact measurement of all website data.

Grabber Mode uses a content script to detect and highlight elements on the active webpage. When the user selects an element, Ghost Clean hides that element on the page using CSS. It does not block network requests or modify the website's underlying resources.

Ghost Clean does not collect browsing history, passwords, cookies, downloads, website content, or website activity. The extension sends a small anonymous heartbeat approximately once per day containing only an anonymous identifier used to measure active usage.
