It's a scam and a fraud. They replace affiliate ids with their own even if they don't provide any value.

They show the users of the extension worse coupon codes if the shops are partnered with them, a.k.a. paying them.

Full on enshittification. Fuck them.

The source is a well researched (as far as I can tell) video on youtube. The video id (since links are not allowed) is watch?v=vc4yL3YTwWk (just put it after the / in the youtube url)

Honey is maliciously modifying affiliate links and basically scams influencers.

Just wow. Bunch of scammers that made this. You think it's great and doing the hard work for you but it's really just scamming you and all those that promote it.

scam add-on from paypal. they still from affiliates and scams users by controlling coupon codes and giving users whatever their partners want. so if they don't want big coupons going out, honey won't put them out and you'll only get small discount codes, or none at all. the whole thing is fraudulent and scummy.

When I used this extension I literally NEVER got any coupons and now it's confirmed to be a literal SCAM so yeah. dont use it.

Owned by Paypal, scam content creators by changing the affiliate link so Honey/Paypal gets the commission instead of the content creator. Absolutely unethical and should not be supported under any conditions.

They stole commissions from creators by modifying the affiliate links of the creators that were sponsored, thus pocketing the money for themselves, even if they did nothing to earn it. This would happen when you applied a coupon, used honey gold offers or simply clicked "Got it" when they told you they didn't find anything. Basically, any click resulted in them stealing the commission. That's not all. They also screwed over the customers. Honey tells you the coupons they found are the best possible offer they found by scouring the internet, but that's not true. Stores that partnered with Honey had the ability to tell them which coupons they wanted them to use. For example, say there is a 20% off coupon you can find by searching manually, but the store doesn't want you to find that. So they tell Honey to not use that one, and only show you a 5% discount. So at checkout, you get the popup that a coupon was found, and you apply it. By doing this, you don't go searching for a better one by yourself, because Honey supposedly already gave you the best one. Thus, you leave feeling like you got the best deal, when there were much better coupons out there. All credit for this information goes to the youtuber MegaLag, who found this information during an investigation. Check out his video for more information
