The solution:
Go to uBO settings page and uncheck: "Uncloak canonical names" under "Privacy".

Sometimes the add-on conflicts with the desktop app but that is a minor annoyance. I wish that the NordVPN Android app was as effective, as I cannot watch anything on BBC iPlayer or Channel 4 on my phone. Thanks, guys for delivering such a high quality security tool!
