NostrKey is a free, open-source key manager for Nostr. Your private key lives on your device — apps get to act as you, but they never see your key.
WHAT YOU CAN DO
• Log in to Nostr apps with one click (NIP-07) — no passwords, no key pasting.
• See exactly what you're signing. Every request shows the app, the action in plain language ("Publish a note", "⚠ Replace your follow list"), and the full details — before you approve. No blind signing.
• Grant permission per app, per action. Default-deny: nothing signs without your OK.
• Keep multiple identities and switch between them.
• Sign in remotely with a bunker URL (NIP-46) — use one identity across apps and devices without copying your key around.
• Encrypt everything at rest with a master password and auto-lock.
• An encrypted vault for your notes and keys.
• Make it yours: three looks, light/dark/system, adjustable text size and contrast.
PRIVACY
No accounts. No tracking. No data collection. Your keys never leave your device unless you export them yourself.

The extension injects a window.nostr API into web pages, allowing Nostr-compatible sites to request event signing. Users must explicitly approve each signing request through the extension's permission system.
All cryptographic operations happen locally in the browser. Private keys never leave the extension's storage context. WebSocket connections (wss://) are used solely for communicating with user-configured Nostr relays.
The host_permissions (<all_urls>) are required because the NIP-07 API must be available on any website the user visits — we cannot predict which domains will be Nostr-enabled.
