QR Portal is a lightweight, privacy-focused extension that lets you scan and decode QR Codes from any web page directly via the right-click context menu. You do not need to use your phone or upload images to external web services.

Key Features

• Multiple QR Code Detection: The extension automatically detects and decodes multiple QR Codes within a single image, listing them in a unified view.
• Safe Previews: By default, selecting "Scan QR Code..." opens a clean, readable popup. This allows you to inspect the raw content or links safely before navigating to them.
• Quick Actions: From the popup, you can copy the decoded text to your clipboard with a single click, or search text contents on Google.
• Direct Redirect: Hold the Control (Ctrl) key while right-clicking to show the "Open QR Code..." option. Clicking this opens decoded links directly in a new tab, skipping the popup.
• Local Processing: All image downloading and decoding run entirely on your computer (client-side). No data, images, or links are transmitted over the network or saved.

How to use

1. Right-click on any image containing a QR Code.
2. Select "Scan QR Code..." to view its content in the popup window.
3. Hold Ctrl while right-clicking and select "Open QR Code..." to navigate directly to the link in a new tab.

Permission Notice
The extension requests host permissions ( <all_urls> ) to fetch image bytes from external servers. This is necessary to bypass cross-origin restrictions (CORS) so the decoding engine can read the pixels locally. No external servers are contacted for logging, tracking, or analytics.
