X.com Video Downloader adds a download button to video posts on X.com and Twitter.com.

It selects the highest-quality direct MP4 video available from the public post metadata and saves it through Firefox’s Downloads API in the browser’s default This add-on is experimentalDownloads folder.

The extension has no account system, analytics, advertising, backend server, or third-party libraries. It only requests the selected public post’s media metadata from X and downloads the video from X’s CDN after the user clicks the download button.

Private posts, DRM-protected videos, HLS/m3u8 streams, and videos without a direct
MP4 source are not supported.
