Once you search something or start watching videos related to some topic like cars, mobiles etc. or listen to some songs, youtube keeps on recommending similar type of videos. This really makes me wonder how many nice and relevant video suggestions I keep missing out on a daily basis due to the recommendations being filled with already watched videos.

But if we regularly delete history older than few days, youtube will eventually give us new recommendations.

Now you can freely search for anything on youtube without worrying that it will keep on recommending me same videos. Or if you had turned off your history, you can turn it back on at https://myactivity.google.com/activitycontrols This way you would be able to maintain very short history, which will also help you to resume watching the last few videos.

Another workaround is to use auto delete feature of youtube history. But currently it only deletes videos older than 3 months. This time period is too long and doesn't changes the experience.

Note that this extension does not have UI; it just runs in the background. To disable it just go to the extensions page of your browser. In the future it may have an option to customize the number of days for which to keep youtube history.
