YouTube Archive Description Viewer

View archived versions of public YouTube video descriptions using snapshots from the Internet Archive's Wayback Machine.

The extension helps recover information that may have disappeared from a video's current description — including old links, credits, references, social media pages, download links, sources, and other text that was present when the page was archived.

Open a YouTube video and use the extension to look for available archived snapshots of its description. If the Wayback Machine has a suitable snapshot, you can view the older description without manually searching through the archive yourself.

Useful for researching older YouTube videos, finding lost links, checking how descriptions changed over time, or recovering context from videos uploaded years ago.

Availability depends on whether the video's page was previously archived by the Wayback Machine.
