Works very well, I use it with Aegisub, which is Freeware.
I hadn't realised it was still available, I used it many years ago with Windows 7 when the YouTube subtitling system was very different. I have only had it for one day, I may expand my review later.

Very good addon srt convert is best, thank you i not need more... Ony one is wierd when i download example subtitles with name "some yt video name" when i look download folder name alweys is changed to "(1) some yt video name" somtime number is difrent (4). This is rly anoing coz i must change sub name and delete bracket number... But all other is great 5 star anyway :) Thank You! PS. and number is same when you download win 10 copy same file but i check and dost have any previus copy.

If this addon also converted auto-generated subtitles in an update, THAT would be incredible (I had to piece together an AutoHotKey script to be able to do it, but it's clunky and doesn't do nearly as well as the pure download of the srt file this addon offers).

Recently it does not work properly. It cannot check out if Youtube video has subtitle or not. Therefore closed captions of some videos can not be downloaded.
It worked very well before. But not now.

I'm not very keen on using add-ons and any other kind extensions for their notorious ability to cause every type of corruption of browsers' functionality but this is a much needed add-on for a person that watches English-speaking YouTube videos and doesn't want any unknown word to slip through his attention for later scrutiny in order to extend his/her learning ability. Sadly more and more YT videos adopt auto-generation of subtitles which this add-on can do nothing about. Auto-generation as it comes from the notion's definition occurs at run-time only, so there's no technical option to extract subtitles stream. I was able to download a SRT file only for one video so far.
