The developers behind this are absolute heroes for constantly maintaining and extending this plugin. It must be an incredibly daunting task, trying to ensure *every* website out there can have a good-looking dark mode applied in a performant/efficient way on page load. Make sure you don't just use the plugin but subscribe with a donation. I recently read an update from them about having to deal with a very tricky performance issue in Firefox and it made me realise how much I take this plugin for granted and the pressure they're under. Sometimes there are some bugs, or performance issues, but it is WAY better than anything else available!

The creator also puts in A LOT of effort, so I recommend others to donate!

I've been using this for a while, and it works fairly good. Could it have better controls per website? Absolutely. But, it's currently the best there is, and prevents me from staring into the sun on my 43" monitor.

This extension has saved me from so many headaches. I used to have to rely on each site having its own native dark mode, and found myself suffering when they didn't but with this I can finally rest my eyes on sites that DON'T have a native dark mode

Functions exactly as expected. Some tuning is required but that's more a function of the sites rather than the extension. Great work, and thank you for making the web easier on my eyes.

An incredible eye-saver. It does an infinitely better job than other similar extensions, issues are rare, and the feature set allows users to set rules for problematic sites. Although it's not always the absolute most performant add-on, the DarkReader team are clever in their solutions, quick to address issues when popular websites cause incompatability, and deserve a ton of praise for this volunteer-created tool.
