This policy describes the privacy practices for the Feroot PageScanner browser extension.

Feroot PageScanner is a browser-local inspection tool. It scans web pages selected or visited by the user and generates privacy, compliance, security, cookie, script, API endpoint, vulnerability, form-field, tracker/technology, and data-transfer reports.

PageScanner processes scan data locally in the user’s browser. The extension does not upload scan results, page content, form values, cookies, authentication data, browsing history, report data, or exported files to Feroot or to Feroot services.

PageScanner may observe browser activity needed to produce its reports, including scripts, network requests, response headers, cookies and storage attributes, API endpoints, WebSocket endpoints, form fields, vendors, trackers, and data-transfer destinations. Cookie values, passwords, payment card values, and typed form values are not included in reports.

Deep Scan may request script files already referenced by the scanned page so PageScanner can download those scripts as text and analyze them locally for security, vulnerability, and API endpoint evidence. These scripts are not executed by PageScanner and are not uploaded to Feroot. PageScanner uses runtime limits, scan windows, caching, and resource caps to reduce browser impact.

PageScanner stores settings, temporary scan state, and report data locally in the browser. By default, PageScanner keeps report information for the most recent pages retained in a tab, with configurable limits, cleanup, and browser-local storage controls. Data associated with closed or inactive tabs is cleaned up according to the extension’s runtime limits.

Reports and exports are created locally and are only shared if the user chooses to export or send them outside the browser.

PageScanner does not use remote code. Executable extension code is bundled with the extension package.
