PhishBuddy is a lightweight phishing-warning helper for your browser.

What it does:
- Watches the links you navigate to and the URLs you paste.
- Sends each URL to the PhishBuddy safety backend to be checked.
- Shows a clear verdict: safe, suspicious, or dangerous, with a warning page for dangerous links.

How it checks links:
To check a link, PhishBuddy sends the URL being checked to its own safety backend, and (when enabled) to Google Safe Browsing and VirusTotal. Results are briefly cached. PhishBuddy does not create accounts, does not ask for personal information, and does not sell your data. Full details are in the privacy policy.

Important: a clean result means no configured check found a warning. It does not guarantee a site is safe. Always use your own judgement before entering passwords or payment details.
