Phishing Protect — Privacy Policy
Phishing Protect does not collect, store, transmit, or share any user data.
What the extension does: When you navigate to a website, the extension compares the address against the protection settings you configured. This comparison happens entirely on your device.
What leaves your browser: Nothing. The extension makes no network requests of any kind. It has no analytics, no telemetry, no remote servers, and no accounts.
What is stored: Your protection settings (the domain and keywords you enter) are saved using your browser's built-in extension storage, which may sync them between your own signed-in browsers via your browser vendor's sync service — the same mechanism that syncs your bookmarks. The extension developer never sees them. If you choose "continue anyway" on a warning page, that domain is remembered in temporary session storage on your device and erased when you close your browser.
Browsing history: The extension does not record, log, or retain the addresses of pages you visit. Addresses are checked in the moment and immediately discarded.
Permissions: "webNavigation" is used to check addresses before pages load; "storage" holds your settings and the session-only list above. These are the minimum permissions needed to function.
Changes: If a future version ever changes any of the above, the extension's data collection declaration will be updated and you will be asked to consent before updating.
