QueueMark Privacy Policy

QueueMark is a local-first Firefox extension. It does not collect, transmit, sell, or share personal data with the developer or third parties.


To provide a reading queue, QueueMark uses:

• The title and URL of a page the user chooses to save.
• Bookmark identifiers and timestamps needed to manage QueueMark's bookmark folder.
• Local queue state, including whether an item is queued, finished, or snoozed.
• Local preferences and aggregate usage counts.

QueueMark does not scan webpage contents and has no host permissions or content scripts. If the user explicitly selects text and chooses Save highlighted passage, Firefox provides that selected text to QueueMark; QueueMark stores it locally inside the bookmark's text-fragment URL so the saved link can return to that passage. It never reads form entries, passwords, cookies, images, or unselected page text.


Saved page titles, URLs, and explicitly selected passage text are stored as normal Firefox bookmarks under QueueMark – Read Later. Snooze times, preferences, timestamps, and aggregate output counts are stored in Firefox's local extension storage.

QueueMark has no account or backend and does not send this information to the developer.

If the user has independently enabled Firefox Sync for bookmarks, Firefox may synchronize the QueueMark folder, queued-versus-finished placement, titles, URLs, and any selected passage text embedded in those URLs. This is a Firefox feature, not a QueueMark service. QueueMark neither controls nor guarantees synchronization. Snooze times, timestamps, preferences, and counters remain local and may not follow bookmarks to another Firefox installation.


When the user asks QueueMark to export or copy a reading list, the extension locally generates Markdown or standalone HTML containing the selected saved titles, URLs, and any explicitly saved passage excerpts.

The export controls include a clearly visible, checked-by-default option to add a short footer linking to:

The user can turn this footer off before creating the export or copy. QueueMark does not automatically publish or transmit exported lists. Any later sharing is controlled by the user.


QueueMark makes no background network requests and uses no analytics, telemetry, ads, tracking pixels, accounts, or remote services.

The extension contains optional static links to its Firefox Add-ons listing and to Buy Me a Coffee. A third-party site is contacted only after the user deliberately clicks one of those links, and that site then operates under its own privacy policy.

Opening a saved page also contacts that page in the same way as opening a normal Firefox bookmark.


QueueMark requests:

• bookmarks, to create and manage its dedicated bookmark folder and saved pages.
• activeTab, to temporarily read the title and URL of a tab involved in an explicit toolbar, shortcut, or context-menu action.
• menus, to offer save actions in Firefox context menus.
• storage, to retain local queue state, snooze times, preferences, and aggregate statistics.

QueueMark does not request host access, browsing-history access, webpage-content access, downloads, or clipboardWrite. Any copy action is initiated directly by the user from the extension page using browser user activation, with a local manual-copy fallback.


QueueMark retains saved bookmarks until the user removes them. Marking an item finished moves it to the Finished bookmark folder and does not delete it. Users can remove individual items or delete the QueueMark – Read Later tree through Firefox. If QueueMark is used again after that tree is deleted, it may create a new empty managed tree.

Uninstalling removes QueueMark's local extension storage but does not delete normal Firefox bookmarks. Users who want all QueueMark bookmarks removed should delete the QueueMark – Read Later tree before or after uninstalling. Firefox controls retention and synchronization of bookmark records, including synchronized copies.

Exported Markdown or HTML files are ordinary user-created files and remain wherever the user chose to save or share them.


If QueueMark's data practices change, this policy will be updated before the changed version is distributed. QueueMark will not begin collecting or transmitting personal data without clear disclosure and any permission required by Mozilla.
