Why the Windows WASAPI engine?
Firefox extensions are not allowed to install programs or access the system audio output. That's why SuperVolume consists of two parts:
1. The browser extension – amplifies every website's audio directly in the tab (WebAudio DSP)
2. The Windows engine (free, < 1 MB, no admin required) – additionally controls the hardware volume via the Windows CoreAudio/WASAPI API

Without the engine the browser amplification works fully. With the engine you get double control: browser DSP + hardware volume. The popup shows an install button when the engine is missing; uninstalling the add-on removes the engine automatically.

Privacy: SuperVolume collects no data. Everything runs locally – no servers, no analytics, no data sharing.
