Испортили, раньше все работало, сейчас при попытке скачать простое Видео с Youtube или с других источников, требует установки отдельной программы на ваш ПК, которая называется Video DownloadHelper Companion App размером 41мб. Я все установил, думал добавили что то новое или улучшили. Жестоко ошибся. Небольшое Видео качалось около 15мин (обалдеть) и после скачивания расширение сообщило что конвертировало мое видео без спроса, причем с Огромным водяным знаком перекрывающим половину видеоролика. Ну и зачем такое счастье? УДАЛИЛ этот сортир.

Spoiled, everything worked before, now when you try to download simple Video from Youtube or from other sources, it requires the installation of a separate program on your PC called Video DownloadHelper Companion App with a size of 41mb. The extension misleads you that you can download videos without conversion by selecting options not marked with ADP.
But there are no such options.

Been using this addon for years. But now they've added watermarks to the downloaded videos. Useless now.

Требует дополнительно скачать exe файл и установить. Не советую это делать

Doesn't work.

it's like trying to steal every resource your PC/MAC has to render video and add watermark with the QR code in it, so it takes huge amount of time, useless as there will be watermark and.... you can make it for free for vimeo streaming video: https://github.com/alexeygrigorev/vimeo-download. so, wtf guys.

With Video DownloadHelper extension enabled if I go to the Xfinity Stream website to view live TV programming after about 70 minutes Firefox starts slowing down and the live TV starts to play intermittently. The only way I can watch Xfintiy Stream live TV is to disable Video Download Helper.

I don't know how well this addon downloads videos- I already have a dedicated Youtube video downloader- but what this addon did do is completely ignore every other video site I visited while also nagging me to download an extra piece of software (which mozilla naturally won't QC) and destabilize firefox to the point that it would frequently crash after roughly 30 minutes or so.

verdict: literally less than useless, because it adds nothing but also takes away functionality. uninstalled
