New update adds HUGE non transparent QR code to all downloads. I been using this add-on for years instant uninstall....

Requires external download "companion app".

Can't download anything without "Companion App" 100% garbage

Recently added an update that puts a completely non translucent qr code to the entire bottom quarter of any video saved. Used to recommend this to anyone and now it's an instant delete.

HORRIBLE. Every file has the same name, they do NOT download to the specified folder and I can't find them anywhere.

This video downloader was among the best with flawless downloading for non-streaming videos. But at least a week ago, every download attempt has been blocked into a "queued" status of nothing downloaded. Not sure if I'm throttled by this app when other apps allow downloading of the same videos.

Further, it is clunky for the local installation of the companion app to download streaming videos when other video downloading apps can download those streaming videos without any local installation.

Guess I will have to switch over to alternatives permanently.

P.S. Now I've been reading of the latest update that adds a QR code onto the downloaded video unless it's a paid version. No, ma'am. Found a very good alternative that I can download HLS streaming videos without any additional installation of app to my computer's local hard drive. Best of all, the downloading of the streaming videos doesn't take half the time that this extension's companion app that took forever (at least 25 minutes if not longer for a mere 40-minute video).

Sometimes, change is good to force one to find something else. Whatever Video Downloader did shoved me in the right direction.

Needs a companion app and then includes a paywalled watermark. Useless

I will not use nor trust any downloader that requires a companion app.

Caspita, certo che ho NOTATO! la filigrana occupa un quarto dello schermo!! programma divenuto inguardabile e inutile, disinstallato.

Абсолютно хаотичный интерфейс: автоматом добавляет кучу всяких ссылок — не понятно, это уже закачивается или нет; наводишь на элемент управления, он тут же на что-то другое заменяется — из-за этого контролировать процесс загрузки невозможно; нажал скачать — полчаса прошло, загрузилось лишь 1 минута файла. Короче бред полный, а не скачивалка. Ах да, ещё требует установить какое-то внешнее приложение (на ваш страх и риск, естественно). В топку.

Keeps asking me to download a "Companion App" in order to download videos, and absolutely NOTHING about this is written in the extension description.

It leads you to their own website so you can download and install their app, which gives them access to you files and could be very dangerous. The purpose of extensions is exactly to contain their effects within the browser only, which is safer.

Feels extremely suspicious, and the fact that this is "recommended" sincerely strengthens my recent thoughts of abandoning Firefox altogether.

Very hard to see the video, hidden behind the huge waterstamp! Also the needed extra software, does not have a visible uninstaller - one has to search for that...

Обман. Не советую. Ставят свою защиту в виде QR кода на экран. Чтобы убрать - платите. В описании сразу не сказано что это дополнение платное.

DO NOT USE. Makes you install software onto your PC itself without telling you it's gonna slap a massive screw-off QR code onto the video unless you give them 28 dollars. I have no idea how this got Firefox's seal of approval

Раньше было отличным дополнением. Я даже поддержал производителя денюжкой. Но потом стало необходимым скачивать их приложение отдельно на ПК, так еще и лепят QR код на половину видео. О сильно разочарован.

Don't bother installing this app. It adds a large QR Code obscuring part of the saved video, unless you pay them $28.50 for the premium version. It also makes you install software onto your computer (twice) before it works. There's plenty of other totally free extensions and software out there that will save your video for free without adding a QR Code. Maybe if the price was closer to $5 then I would consider paying. $28 is ridiculous.

The extension no longer works, it does not fulfill its purpose of allowing you to download videos

Imagine trying to download a video that's an hour and a half long, being told you have to install a desktop application, and then you have to close your browser before installing the desktop application, and then FINALLY downloading the video. The one and half hour long video. And then, once it finally finally finishes, finding out that there is an absolutely gigantic QR code on it added by the extension because you didn't give them money.

I hope it would help for my service that I paid but don't offers offline viewer ; crunchyroll and Viki but the files are corrupted ...
