Wagner Ring Cycle Barenboim
The live recording of Richard Wagner's Der Ring des Nibelungen cycle of four operas, conducted by Daniel Barenboim at the Bayreuth Festspielhaus over the 1991 and 1992 festival seasons and released in both audio and video formats. My personal favourite Ring cycle of the modern era, although it is now more than 25 years, it features an excellent cast at the top of their games, led by John Tomlinson (Wotan), Anne Evans (Brünhilde), Siegfried Jerusalem (Siegfried) and Günter von Kannen (Alberich).
