Minimal extension that lets you watch YouTube videos at any speed you want.

Unlock full control of Youtube's playback speed. Youtube Custom Playback Speed removes speed limits from the playback speed menu.
- Click on the current speed in the playback speed menu to type in a custom speed.
- Use the keyboard shortcuts (< and >) or click on the +/- slider buttons in the menu without limits.

YouTube Custom Playback Speed lets you type the exact speed you want instead of choosing only from YouTube’s preset options. Use the extension popup, or edit the playback speed directly from YouTube’s playback speed menu by clicking on the current speed and editing it.The playback speed setting is saved locally in Chrome and automatically applied when you watch other YouTube videos in the future.

This extension works by overriding the buttons in the Youtube UI to directly change the playbackRate attribute of Youtube videos. This allows us to disable the default speed limitations and utilize the full range of playback speeds available in the Chrome browser (0.0625x - 16x).

Privacy: This extension stores your playback speed setting locally in Chrome using extension storage. It does not collect, transmit, sell, or share personal data. No account is required, and no data is sent to an external server.
