The Whistler is a Firefox extension for listening to classic old-time radio mystery and suspense episodes from the Internet Archive.

The extension provides a simple audio player with episode search, Play/Pause/Stop controls, volume adjustment, playback speed control, random episode selection, and a sleep timer.

It also includes customizable themes, including Default Dark, Sepia Vintage, and True Black OLED, plus listening history and history export through the settings page.

Episodes are streamed directly from the Archive.org collection rather than packaged inside the extension, keeping the extension lightweight.

No account or login is required. User settings and listening history are stored locally in the browser.
