This extension does not collect, transmit, or sell your data. The pages you scan never leave your computer.

WHAT THE EXTENSION DOES WITH THE PAGES YOU SCAN

When you run a scan, the accessibility test runs entirely inside your own browser, on the page already open in front of you. The page's content, its address, and the results of the test are not sent anywhere. There is no server behind this extension.

The most recent scan result is saved on your own device, using your browser's extension storage, so that the report is still there when you reopen it. It stays on that device. Running another scan replaces it, and removing the extension deletes it.

WHAT IS STORED ON YOUR DEVICE

• The most recent scan result
• The names you type into the "Prepared for" and "Prepared by" fields
• Your licence key, if you have entered one
• Your preference for whether reports include technical detail

None of this is transmitted, and none of it is readable by us.

THE ONE TIME THE EXTENSION CONTACTS THE INTERNET

If — and only if — you enter a licence key, the extension sends that key to Polar, our payment provider, so it can confirm the licence is valid. Polar receives the licence key and, as with any web request, your IP address. Nothing about the pages you have scanned is included.

Permission to contact Polar is requested at the moment you activate a licence, not when you install the extension. If you never enter a licence key, the extension makes no network requests at all. See Polar's privacy policy for how they handle it.

WHAT THE EXTENSION DOES NOT DO

• No analytics, telemetry, or usage tracking of any kind
• No advertising, and no advertising identifiers
• No accounts, and no email address is required to use it
• No selling or sharing of data with third parties, because there is no data to sell
• No reading of pages you have not explicitly asked it to scan

PERMISSIONS, AND WHY EACH ONE EXISTS

• activeTab — lets the extension read the one page you are on, and only at the moment you click the button to scan it.
• scripting — runs the accessibility test inside that page.
• storage — keeps the last result and your settings on your device.
• api.polar.sh — optional, requested only when you activate a licence, and revoked when you remove one.

REMOVING YOUR DATA

Uninstalling the extension removes everything it stored. To clear the licence without uninstalling, open the extension, choose Licence, and select Remove this licence.

CHANGES

If this policy changes in a way that affects what is collected, the change will be described here with a new date, and noted in the extension's release notes.
