While it's certainly possible BetterTTV could increase CPU utilization on a browser tab from emotes rendering in chat, in our experience the increase is nominal for most streams. If you're still having this issue, I'd recommend reaching out to our team so we can help find the actual cause.

Thanks for the review. BetterTTV actually isn't causing these issues, and BetterTTV doesn't generally affect other extensions. Twitch has recently been rolling out a new site updated with React 18, which many extensions are not initially compatible with. BetterTTV supports this as of 7.5.16, but you will need to reach out to other extension support teams for any bugs you encounter in their extensions as a result of these ongoing Twitch updates.

Thanks for the review. This is still a setting under the Auto Play setting on the Channel settings tab. If you're having trouble finding it, search for "Auto Play" in the BetterTTV Settings menu.

You seem to be mistaking us for a different extension. BetterTTV is compatible with all other extensions.

Settings should persist across launches, but you may need to update your browser's configuration to not clear cookies on close or add an exception for Twitch/YouTube.

You may be seeing emotes that are not part of BetterTTV's network. You can turn on additional emotes from the BetterTTV Settings.

Thanks for the feedback. All BetterTTV emotes do work in the Firefox version too. You may want to make sure you've enabled both the BetterTTV Emotes and BetterTTV GIF Emotes settings in the BetterTTV settings.

Thanks for the feedback. After installing the extension you actually need to configure it in order to use the majority of its benefits/features. You can access the settings from within the chat settings of Twitch chat or the user dropdown in the upper right of the Twitch website.

We had shipped a bad release but did iron out these issues. If you're still having issues, try reinstalling the extension from the Firefox add-ons site to get back to a stable build.

We are not able to reproduce an issue with disabling auto play. If you're still having this issue and are able to provide steps to reproduce it, please file an issue over on our bug tracker at https://github.com/night/betterttv/issues
