ColorPro is designed with a privacy-first approach. We believe that developer and design tools should be fast, secure, and entirely local. We do not collect, store, transmit, or sell any of your personal data. Everything you do in ColorPro stays on your device.

No Data Collection or Tracking

We do not use any third-party analytics (like Google Analytics), crash reporting tools, advertising networks, or tracking scripts. No telemetry or usage statistics of any kind are ever sent to external servers.

Local Storage Explained

Any data generated by using the extension—such as your picked color history, custom saved palettes, and UI theme preferences—is saved locally on your machine using the browser's built-in chrome.storage.local API. This data never leaves your browser and can be completely wiped at any time using the "Clear All Data" button in the extension settings.

Required Permissions & Usage

To provide its core functionality, ColorPro requires specific browser permissions. Here is exactly why we need them and how they are used:

activeTab

Allows the extension to temporarily access the current webpage only when you explicitly click the extension icon. We use this to inject the sampling cursor and take a viewport screenshot so you can pick colors.

scripting

Required to inject our UI elements (like the magnifier, audit HUD, and CSS tooltips) into the webpage you are actively inspecting.

storage

Allows the extension to save your preferences (Dark/Light mode, default export format), color history, and custom palettes directly to your hard drive.

clipboardWrite

Enables the extension to copy picked HEX/RGB codes, JSON audit reports, and extracted CSS snippets directly to your system clipboard for easy pasting.

Third-Party Services

ColorPro operates 100% offline and independently. It does not connect to any external APIs or third-party web services.
