Enhancements for Google Voice от Urgo

The Google Voice website has a few rough edges. This add-on smooths them over.
It works alongside the site in your own browser, using the session you are
already signed into.

WHAT IT FIXES

Photos that are too big to send
Paste or upload a photo larger than about 2 MB into a Google Voice conversation
and it is rejected with an error telling you it is too large. That is the end of
it: you have to go and resize the photo in some other app and come back. Pictures
straight from a phone camera are routinely over the limit. This add-on downscales
them on the way in, so they just send.

No drag and drop
The Google Voice conversation view does not accept dragged files. Now it does.
Drop an image anywhere on the page and it is attached, resized first if needed.

Texts and verification codes buried in a tab
A toolbar button shows recent conversations with an unread badge, so you do not
have to keep the site open and go looking. Verification and two-factor codes are
detected automatically and can be copied with one click, or with a keyboard
shortcut without opening anything at all. Codes expire from the list on their
own, so old ones do not linger.

HOW IT WORKS

The add-on keeps one pinned Google Voice tab and reads your conversations
through it, using your existing signed-in session. It never asks for your
password and never sends your messages anywhere.

Your messages stay on your computer. There are no analytics, no external
servers, no tracking, and no remote code. Nothing is transmitted anywhere except
to Google, from the Google Voice tab itself, using the same requests the website
already makes.

GOOD TO KNOW

Firefox for desktop, version 140 or later.

Replies are composed in the popup and handed to the Google Voice tab with the
message box already filled in, ready for you to press Enter. Google requires an
anti-automation token to send messages directly, which an add-on cannot produce,
so the last step stays with you.

Image resizing only affects pasted and uploaded files. Google's own photo picker
is untouched.

If you are signed into several Google accounts and your Voice number is not on
the first one, there is a setting for which account to use.
