Oh my god, it actually works! I've been dealing with the player controls staying on in fullscreen, and this made them go away! I'm so happy!!

Just what I was looking for... for ages ! It works fine and the hotkey is a QoL !

Suggestion : it needs one more option that let us move our mouse without showing the UI. Sure, there's an "Invert" option, but that's not the same, because in that case, moving the mouse hides controls. So you cant use controls...

I would like my mouse has no effect on the UI at all ; and I only show or hide controls by pressing "H".
So moving the mouse do nothing, but I still can use it to click on controls when I need it !

Good thing. I can see all the subtitles while using full screen mode by dragging mouse to the left border as well as to the right one.

Thanks ! This is an indispensable lifesaver ! Dunno why my YouTube Controls don't auto-hide in fullscreen, couldn't debug it, I was forced to use Safe Mode but now it can be hidden --hats off to you !!
