The only reason I kept it until now was because it count the words on the page. But now I'm looking for another extension that can count and check grammar

I have used this tool for a very long time, it worked as I wanted it to. But now I have to pay for it? What nonsense is that? I'll be removing this extension, and moving onto other tools that check spelling without some AI nonsense.

Greed took over and now this tool is only free to use in a 14-day trail period, unless you want to pay for premium, this tool is useless. Shame because it was a good tool. Plenty of free alternatives out there. I would even prefer to go back to write in a text editor, do a spell check online with a free tool and then paste the corrected text where I want to post it. Besides that, with AI getting better every day, online spellcheck can easily be done without using this tool.

You can not use this addon, if you can't connect to languagetool.org (alledgedly to accept the privacy policy) even when using a LOCAL server...

Used to be an amazing add, but they added AI features no one liked, then blamed the fact people use AI to push a stupidly expensive subscription

A complete corporate bait-and-switch. Avoid.

I found this extension while looking for a reliable grammar checker, and at first, it was amazing. But the developers just pulled the ultimate rug-pull on their loyal user base. They took a great free extension with solid, basic grammar and spelling features and locked everything behind a massive paywall.

They are now demanding an insanely overpriced subscription: $24 USD monthly or a whopping $69 USD per year just for standard grammar checking! Was the AI bill really that expensive that you had to alienate your entire community? I’m definitely not going to self-host an app just to get basic browser tools.

In short: Don't bother installing. Look elsewhere.

Well...loved this extension for many years now, and praised it to friends for how useful of a tool it is, and they ruined it over night. I imagine that they couldn't afford the AWS AI bill for their stupid, shoe-horned, AI nonsense, and now the whole extension is going behind a paywall. You have to be a real moron to pay a subscription to a spell checker ($34.90 a month???? Are you insane??) Time to find a new extension I guess..

How to ruin your product overnight... Nobody wants AI Slop AND then forced to pay for it.
