Plex Lyrics PiP turns Plex Web into a compact, touch-friendly music controller with lyrics in a Picture-in-Picture window.

Open it using the Lyrics PiP button added to Plex Web. The extension uses the lyrics, artwork, metadata, playback state, volume, and ratings already available in your Plex session—no separate lyrics provider required.

The extension remembers your expanded PiP size, lyric text size, and whether lyrics were last shown or hidden.

Plex’s lyrics panel is kept open only while the PiP window is active, including when using controller-only mode. Closing PiP restores normal Plex behavior.


Plex Lyrics PiP does not fetch lyrics from external services, run analytics, or collect listening data. Lyrics, artwork, metadata, and playback information come directly from your open Plex Web session. Ratings are submitted through Plex Web’s existing controls.

The extension is limited to https://app.plex.tv/*. Its toolbar icon is passive; there is no popup or background keep-open mode.
