Политика приватности для «Universal Text Expander»
Universal Text Expander works entirely inside your browser. There is no account, no server of ours, and no analytics.
- Text you type: when you type in a text field, the extension looks at the text immediately left of the caret to check whether it ends with one of your shortcuts. This text is never stored or transmitted.
- Clipboard: read only when a snippet containing {clipboard} expands, and inserted into the field. It is never stored or transmitted.
- Page data (Pro): only when a snippet you wrote contains {selection}, {title}, {url} or {page:…}, the extension reads that value from the current page at the moment it expands, and inserts it. It is never stored or transmitted.
- Suggestions: the same text left of the caret is compared, on your device, with your own snippets to suggest a shortcut. Nothing is stored or transmitted.
- Stored data: your snippets, uploaded images, settings, local usage counters, your license key (if purchased) and your Anthropic API key (if you add one) are kept in the browser's local extension storage. You can export or delete them at any time from Settings.
Network: the extension makes only these requests:
- Lemon Squeezy (api.lemonsqueezy.com) to activate, re-validate (about weekly) or deactivate a Pro license. Only the license key and an instance ID are sent. Purchases are processed by Lemon Squeezy under their privacy policy: https://www.lemonsqueezy.com/privacy
- Team libraries (Pro), only if you add one: the extension downloads the JSON file from the URL you entered. Nothing is uploaded.
- Anthropic (api.anthropic.com), only for AI text, as described below.
- Feedback form (only when you press Send in Settings → Feedback): the text you typed, and your email if you entered one, are sent to Tally (api.tally.so).
- Share links (only when you press Share link): the snippet's name, shortcut and text are put in the link itself, after the #, which browsers don't send to any server; anyone you give the link to can read them.
- AI text (off unless you add your own Anthropic API key): when a snippet containing {ai:…} expands, its instruction, the text you selected, your answers to that snippet's form, and the page title and URL are sent to Anthropic (api.anthropic.com) with your key, and the reply is inserted. This happens only at that moment, only for such snippets. Anthropic handles it under its privacy policy (https://www.anthropic.com/legal/privacy). The key is stored only in local extension storage, is never exported or synced, and is sent only to Anthropic.
- Sync (Pro, off by default): if you turn it on, your snippets are stored in the browser's sync storage and synced by Firefox Sync to the browsers where you are signed in. We have no server and never receive them.
- Automatic backup (Pro, off by default): if you turn it on (Firefox asks for the Downloads permission), a backup file is written to your Downloads folder weekly. Nothing is uploaded.
- No data is sold or shared with anyone.
