PRIVACY POLICY — ALTRETTA WEB CLIPPER

Short version: this extension sends what you clip to a program running on your
own computer, and to nowhere else. We receive nothing.

WHAT IT SENDS, AND WHERE

When you clip a page, the extension sends the page title, the article content
converted to Markdown, the page URL, and any tags you typed, to the Altretta
desktop application on your own machine at http://127.0.0.1:19191 (or whichever
local address you configure).

That address is your computer. The extension has no other network permission:
its manifest requests only http://127.0.0.1/ and http://localhost/, which
means Firefox will not let it contact anything else. There is no server operated
by us, so there is nothing for us to receive, store, or be compelled to hand
over.

WHAT IT STORES ON YOUR DEVICE

Two values, in the browser's local extension storage:

• the local endpoint address (default http://127.0.0.1:19191)
• the access token you copied from the Altretta desktop application

Both stay on your device. Removing the extension removes them.

WHAT IT DOES NOT DO

• No analytics, no telemetry, no crash reporting, no usage statistics.
• No account, no sign-up, no identifier of any kind.
• It does not read or transmit your browsing history.
• It reads page content only for the tab you are on, and only when you press
  the clip button. It does not run in the background on the pages you visit.
• Nothing is sold, shared, or passed to any third party, because nothing
  reaches us in the first place.

WHAT HAPPENS TO A CLIP AFTER IT ARRIVES

A clip is stored by the Altretta desktop application
review inbox. It is not added to your notes, indexed, or signed until you
approve it there. Everything after that point is governed by that application,
which keeps your notes as plain files on your own disk.

The source code is submitted with this add-on. The claims above can be checked
in it: "host_permissions" in manifest.json lists every address the extension may
contact, and src/mcpClient.js is the only file that o
