Family Safe Browser Extension Manifest V2 av Master

The same version of my other extension, just for Manifest v2.

Family Safe is a content-filtering extension that blocks adult and
pornographic websites and enforces strict SafeSearch across major
search engines, so explicit content doesn't reach the browser in the
first place.

FEATURES

Domain & URL blocking — known adult sites are blocked at the network
level before the page loads, not hidden after the fact.
SafeSearch enforcement — forces strict SafeSearch on Google, Bing,
DuckDuckGo, Yahoo, and Yandex, filtering explicit images and video
previews out of ordinary search results.
Search & image filtering — a secondary layer that hides matching
search results and blurs suspicious images as backup protection.
Always on — there is no popup, toggle, or settings menu to disable
filtering from within the browser. Designed for shared, family, or
managed devices where protection needs to stay on.


PRIVACY

Family Safe collects and transmits no personal data. All filtering
happens locally in your browser — nothing is sent to any external
server.

LIMITATIONS

This is browser-level filtering, not a network or device-level block.
Someone with access to the browser's extension settings could still
remove the extension itself. For stronger enforcement (e.g. on a
child's device you don't want them to control), pair this with
OS-level parental controls or router/DNS-based filtering.

The included domain blocklist is a starting point and is not
exhaustive — it can be extended by editing the extension's source.(Written with Claude)
