Magic Downloader — Browser Extension Privacy Policy

The extension works with a companion desktop app that runs on YOUR OWN computer (http://127.0.0.1:7373).

What it handles:
• Page and media URLs — when you download, the current page URL and the detected media resource URL are sent to the desktop app on your machine so it can fetch the file. This is required for the extension to work.
• Login cookies (optional, OFF by default) — only if you enable "Send my login cookies for private downloads" in the popup (which asks for permission) are cookies for the current site sent to the app, so authenticated/private downloads work.

Where the data goes: only to the Magic Downloader desktop app on your own computer (localhost). Nothing is sent to the developer or any third party. No analytics, no tracking, no remote code. Taking over the browser's own downloads is off by default.
