Privacy Policy — Titan Guard VPN (Firefox Extension)
Effective date: 6 June 2026
Last updated: 6 June 2026
This Privacy Policy explains how the Titan Guard VPN Firefox extension ("the Extension"), developed by Dewar LLC ("we", "us", "our"), handles your information. By installing or using the Extension, you agree to this policy.
- What data the extension collects
The Extension collects the minimum data necessary to provide the VPN service.
Account data
When you create an account or sign in, we collect:
- Your email address
- A securely hashed version of your password (we never store plaintext passwords)
We do not collect your name, phone number, or payment details. Payments are processed by Stripe under their own privacy policy.
Connection metadata
We do not log your browsing activity, the websites you visit, the content of your internet traffic, or your DNS queries.
We store only the following minimal connection records, used solely for service operation and abuse prevention:
- The date (not time) of a VPN session
- The VPN server location selected
- The total data volume transferred per session (in MB) — no content
These records are kept for a maximum of 30 days and then permanently deleted.
Locally stored data
The Extension stores the following data in your browser using the browser.storage.local API. This data stays on your device and is never transmitted except as part of normal API authentication:
- Your authentication token (a random string, not your password)
- Your last-selected VPN server ID
No browsing history, page content, or personal information is ever stored locally or remotely.
- What data the extension does NOT collect
We do not collect, store, or have access to:
- Your browsing history or the URLs you visit while connected
- Your DNS queries
- The content of any web requests or responses
- Your original IP address after a session ends
- Any data that could link your online activity to your identity
- Device identifiers, advertising IDs, or fingerprinting data
- Permissions used and why
The Extension requests only the following permissions:
storage — to save your auth token and selected server locally between sessions, so you stay signed in without re-entering credentials.
notifications — to show a desktop alert when the VPN connects or disconnects, so you always know your protection status. Notifications contain only the server name and connection state — no personal data.
alarms — to maintain the live session timer in the popup and keep the background script responsive while the VPN is connected. No data is collected or transmitted.
Host permission (https://titanguardvpn.com/*) — to communicate with our backend API for authentication and server list retrieval. No other domains are contacted by the Extension.
- How we use your data
We use your data only to:
- Authenticate your account and maintain your session
- Provide and operate the VPN connection service
- Enforce our Terms of Service and prevent abuse
- Send transactional emails (e.g. password reset) — never marketing
We do not sell, rent, share, or monetise your personal data in any form.
- Data sharing
We do not sell your data. We share limited information only in these circumstances:
Service providers: Stripe processes payments. Their privacy policy governs payment data.
Legal requirements: We may disclose data if required by a valid court order. Because we do not log browsing activity or IP addresses, we have no data to provide relating to your online activity even if legally compelled.
Business transfer: In the event of a merger or acquisition, users will be notified before any data transfer occurs.
- Data retention
- Account data: retained while your account is active
- Connection metadata: deleted after 30 days
- Local browser storage: cleared when you sign out or uninstall the Extension
- Account deletion: all personal data permanently deleted within 14 days of your request
- Your rights
Depending on your location, you may have the right to:
- Access the personal data we hold about you
- Request correction of inaccurate data
- Request deletion of your account and all associated data
- Object to processing
- Export your data in a portable format
To exercise any of these rights, email us at privacy@titanguardvpn.com.
- Security
We protect your data using TLS encryption in transit and bcrypt password hashing at rest. Access to our systems is restricted to authorised personnel only.
- Children
The Extension is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect data from children. If you believe a child has provided personal data, contact us immediately.
- Changes to this policy
We may update this policy from time to time. We will notify registered users by email and post the updated policy here with a revised effective date. Continued use of the Extension after changes constitutes acceptance.
