I just got this yesterday, and am still getting ads. Wha's up, dude?

I'd been wondering why my surface fan was on all the time, found it was firefox using 30% CPU on average, when browsing the BBC especially. Installed this adblock add-on, now the CPU spikes initially but drops down to single digits, very pleased and now my surface is almost silent again.

Adblock Plus was written like a decade ago. 14 million plus users. ..but hey, knock yourself out using something inferior.

I understand that software developers want to name their software something generic for marketing reasons (e.g., a word processor named "word"), but this one is unnecessarily confusing. Are they trying to play off the popularity of AdBlock Plus?

As soon as AdBlock Plus works again with Firefox Nightly, I'm switching back. Not as much because this generic AdBlock is a bad program (it seems okay) but because I don't like that they seem to be relying on confusion to market their program.

Из трех опробованных мною за неделю блокировщиков рекламы с поддержкой FF57+ AdBlock 3.5.1 - считаю лучшим. Использую FF 55.0.3 (32 bit).
В общих настройках отключил использование "Разрешить некоторую ненавязчивую рекламу".
В списках фильтров отключил использование фильтра "Приемлемая реклама".
Для зоны RU включил использование фильтров:
"EasyPrivacy",
"Fanboy's Annoyances",
"Список Предупреждений об удалении AdBlock".
В пользовательские списки фильтров добавил подписку на фильтр "Anti-Adblock Killer" (см. поиск в инете).
Работает быстро, эффективно, не повреждает страницы.
Особо порадовала опция "Блокировать рекламу на этой странице". Она позволяет легко удалить выпадающие навязчивые окна с предложениями подписаться на рассылку новостей и прочей мути.
Большое спасибо разработчикам и наилучших пожеланий.

Yah, the most perfect addons for blocking adds as i think. I like it cause it blocks youtube adds, but i can't do any whitelisting adds. FYI i'm a screen-reader users and i'd like it if you could make it easy to do that matter. thanks.

Испортилась программа. Не блокирует даже половины того, что раньше блокировала.
