If it worked it would be good but it does not work. Everything reverts to US. and I cannot find a way to stop that or even better, remove the US dictionary. a year later it still reverts to US so is a waste of time in fact it is a nuisance.

I have been trying to get the spell checker to work with BT email - the new version of BT email does not have a built in spell checker. I have now loaded both the dictionary and the language pack, logged out and logged back into BT and it still does not work. Could you please advise what I need to do to make the dictionary and spell checker work with BT email opened in Firefox? thanks

For everyone getting confused like me, you have to install the Dictionary add on as well as the language pack for it to spell check your text fields properly. The dictionary is linked from this page too: https://addons.mozilla.org/en-GB/firefox/language-tools/

My English (Britain) has disappeared but when I try to add it, i can only remove it ? ? ?

Downloaded the English (UK) pack as I wanted to change it from the US version and surprise, surprise, NOTHING HAPPENS. It doesn't even show up as an option to change from the US version!

Does not change anything i.e. it still spell checks with U.S. 'English'. NO good to me at all. There are other parts of the world using English, including the country in which it was invented. Must do better Mozilla. Why offer the add on if it does not work? Or, if there is a process to initiate/activate it, have a link to the instructions for those downloading the add on. This is sincerely disappointing.

installed (why is this not included by default?) and still doesn't work, furthermore does not appear in the menu of languages when words are underlined red, takes you back to the add-ons page, in settings the add on is 'on'. If you have 129 1* reviews ie nearly as many as 5*, could you give this issue more attention?

Spell check simply does not work with the UK Language pack installed and specclcheck box ticked

Why does this still not come as my default language, I do not want my default language to be American I have never been there and they spell most words wrong anyway. I have contacted the 'amazing' people at Firefox but he was going on about beta versions and other needless rubbish, really meaning it doesn't work. Who reads these irrelevant reviews anyway

I am English, my Language is English, It is bad enough having to ask for this pack just so I can use English. It is darn right insulting for my spelling to be continually be "corrected" by a tool created by people who clearly need to learn the meaning of the word "English". One can only assume that "US" somehow refers to that ex-colony (get over it) The US of A and not us... why then keep flipping to the one language; US Anerdican (!)?? Why not Swahili or Braille, even {please insert silly, wry smilie face thing here, if it help} Do please try to take control. Artificial Stupid is not very helpful and distinctly inhuman. The browser directs me to this page to pick my language, I install it, but it is still not available to choose in the right click menu. Under languages only "English"US is available. Looking back at the history of languages on Firefox this has been occurring on and off for years. Can someone fix this most basic of required functionality at Mozilla?

When I use Facebook, it still uses the US dictionary. So that's useless in my book....
