Do yourself a favor, and switch to LastPass instead of using the built in utilities in Chrome or Firefox, you'll be glad you did. The LastPass add-ons and extensions are great, they do exactly what you want, and get out of your way the rest of the time.

Excellent Password manager. I use it on Windows, Linux, iOS and Android (also works on Mac OSX but I don't currently have a Mac). Great way to share passwords securely with family members, even the option to share without revealing the password. Well worth the premium service (required to use the mobile apps and I believe secure sharing, but not 100% sure)
