SubTranslate for ARD & ZDF geliştiren: Subtitles Translator

Watch German public broadcasters with their subtitles translated right over the player — ARD Mediathek and ZDF.

Start an episode and the translation appears on its own — nothing to set up. It sits under the original line; keep both if you are also learning German, or show the translation alone.

— Translates from German into other 21 European languages .
— Original and translation together, or translation only.
— Size follows the player, so fullscreen needs no readjusting.
— A time offset, in case the subtitle file is shifted against the video.
— Translations are cached on disk: rewatching costs nothing and is instant.

An independent project, not affiliated with ARD or ZDF. The extension translates the subtitles the broadcasters publish themselves; it does not do speech recognition.
