    1. Regular auto-save defaults to ON, and if the user turns it off, a notification
      (+ yellow warning triangle over the toolbar icon) repeats every N minutes (default 5,
      adjustable) until it's back on.
    2. Stale-session nag: if no session has been saved for X hours (default 1.5, adjustable)
      of active browsing, it alerts the same way. "Active" excludes PC sleep and any gap where
      Firefox's idle API reports the user away >10 min, so a sleeping laptop never falsely
      trips it.
    3. Startup-backup log, in Settings → Auto Save: shows where the last few startup backups
      were written, verifies (by re-reading it back) that each one actually landed in IndexedDB,
      and — new — optionally also writes the same backup as a .json file plus a human-readable
      .txt log to Downloads/TSM Startup Backups/. The log itself is stored as two
      checksummed, alternating copies in storage.local (so a crash mid-write only ever damages
      one of the two, and the other is used to recover) and is mirrored to disk after every
      startup. Log entries never overwrite past sessions, and a "save" of a single blank tab
      never overwrites a real backup.
    4. Failure/edge-case hardening: reopens IndexedDB if the connection drops; retries a
      failed download once (15s later) before reporting the error; keeps a small in-memory
      fallback if a save fails outright and quietly replays it once the DB recovers; catches
      the case where the auto-save alarm itself silently disappears (a known WebExtensions
      alarms quirk) and re-arms it; and sanitizes a bad/zero/NaN interval setting instead of
      letting the alarm API reject it.
